The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) is investigating the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) over allegations of mismanagement of public funds.
In a letter dated 14th September 2026, Ref: HQT/302/7/2026, and officially received by FUFA on 22nd September 2026, the IGG says it is probing alleged mismanagement of government funds by FUFA officials and has ordered the Federation to produce extensive documentation.
The 7-page demand seen by Swift Sports requires FUFA to provide its Statutes from 2016 to date, minutes of all Executive Committee meetings since January 2016, a complete schedule of all bank accounts held by FUFA and all entities owned by the Federation since 2016 with certified statements from July 2021 to August 2026, and audited financial statements from 2016 to date.
The Inspectorate is also demanding full accountability for every grant, subvention and release received from the National Council of Sports, the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and any other public body between July 2021 and August 2026 including amounts, dates, purposes, conditions, expenditure returns and supporting vouchers.
In addition, the IGG has requested FUFA’s procurement rules and all procurement files from July 2021 to June 2026, plus a complete schedule of all land and buildings owned, leased, occupied or used by the Federation, alongside financial reports submitted to the National Council of Sports under Section 22 of the National Sports Act, 2023.
