Blacks Power FC frustrated record league champions SC Villa to a goalless stalemate on Tuesday at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
The Jogoos had scored in their opening seven matches but could not find a breakthrough against Simon Peter Mugerwa’s men.
Villa needed maximum points to go top of the table but failed to prevail over Blacks Power.
Isaac Mpagi had his close-range effort saved by Blacks Power goalkeeper Robert Odongkara in the eighth minute.
The hosts’ best chance of the second half fell to Patrick Kakande in the 68th minute, but his effort went inches wide.
Blacks Power also had a golden opportunity in the final minutes, but forward Innocent Maduka fired wide.
The visitors’ defenders, led by former Vipers SC man Bashir Asiku, put up a spirited performance to keep Zeljko Kovacevic’s side at bay.
