12 players braced for the exit door at KCCA FC

Alex Kabwama

KCCA FC set to lose close to 12 players as the season comes to an end.

This will be the third consecutive season that the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions will end trophyless since the 2018/19 season.

Yasser Mugerwa, Innocent Wafula, John Revita, Hassan Jurua, Brian Aheebwa, Davis Kasirye, Sefano Mazengo Loro, Brian Majwega and January signings Patrick Henry Kaddu, Erisa Sekisambu who joined on short-term employment contracts are among the players expected to leave the club.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that current club head coach Morley Byekwaso has already informed the above mentioned players about their departures.

Interestingly, most of the players set for the exit were bought by current KCCA FC head coach Byekwaso.

Following unsuccessful season, majority of the KCCA FC faithfuls want Byekwaso to leave the club citing that he was given enough resources to build a squad of his own and it’s him to blame.

Byekwaso replaced Mike Mutebi at the helms of the Lugogo based side and at the start of the current campaign he was rewarded with a three year employment contract.

KCCA FC are second placed on the UPL log with just 47 points garnered in 25 games, they 14 points below Vipers SC who will be crowned champions with victory over Express on 29th April at the St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
