Buganda Region Select team holds Cranes to a one-all draw

Uganda Cranes Select and Buganda Region Select team played to a one all draw in a build up match at Naama grounds in Mityana.

KCCA FC’s Rodgers Mato put the Uganda Cranes in the lead before Seeta United’s Rajab Jooga equalized two minutes to half time.

Mato headed from Hassan Jurua’s delivered in the 26th minute to put Micho’s coached side in the lead.

Jooga then put the game to level two minutes to halftime finishing off Umar Kayemba’s through ball after sending goalkeeper Charles Lukwago the wrong way.

The game was a build up as the Cranes prepare for the Navruz Cup that will be held in Uzbekistan between 25th – 29th March.

Buganda Region Select head coach Hussein Mbalangu lauded his select team for their outstanding performance.

“It has been a great performance from the boys and an indicator that Ugandan football is heading somewhere.”

“The boys from a lower level fighting hard to put up a challenge to me it’s great.” Mbalangu said.

Buganda Region Select was a selection of players from Buganda Regional teams.
