The Sudanese have however maintained a huge chunk of their team, most of who have since moved to the paid ranks.

The Cranes will have to be wary of former KCCA and Vipers striker Tito Okello who recently sworn affidavit to switch allegiance from Uganda to South Sudan. He will have a huge point to prove, having been overlooked by many Cranes coaches.

In form striker Derrick Nsibambi, Konyaspor’s Farouk Miya and Israeli based William Kizito Luwagga are expected to hold the mantle for Uganda, whereas Timothy Awanyi may partner Ronald Mukiibi in the heart of the defense.

Uganda will be hoping to run away with all six points out of their doubleheader with Sudan as Malawi and Burkina Faso will also be facing off in the same group.
