Gabon have sent back forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal for medical examinations after he was diagnosed with heart lesions.
The Arsenal forward tested positive for covid-19 on his arrival to Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations, but last week he returned a negative test.
Aubameyang did not feature in either of Gabon’s first two group games at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Arsenal are still waiting for the official confirmation from the Gabon Football Association concerning Aubameyang’s release.

Since he was stripped off the Arsenal captaincy in December following disciplinary breach, Aubameyang is yet to feature for the side and has heavily been linked with a move away from the Emirates.
Gabon are currently second in Group C with four points in two games and will require a point against leaders Morocco to seal a place into the last 16. They beat Comoros 1-0 before a 1-1 stalemate with Ghana.
