Allan Okello late strike wins it for KCCA against Gaddafi

KCCA FC 2-1 Gaddafi FC

Allan Okello struck the much needed late winning goal for KCCA FC to edge Gaddafi FC 2-1 in the Uganda Premier League encounter played at Lugogo.

Okello’s strike came 10 minutes from normal as the game was tied at 1-1 following first half goals from Brian Majwega and Alex Kitata for either side.

Majwega opened the scores in the second minute of the game with a long range strike that found it’s way past goalkeeper Chripus Kusiima in the Gaddafi goal.

Gaddafi responded through their lead striker Alex Kitata who easily equalized with a low shot from the edge of the box just at the stroke of halftime.

KCCA pushed for a winner in the second half and it was Okello who delivered the goods in the 80th minute.

He graceful received the ball at the edge of the box, swiftly made a turn before thumping it into the roof of the net with his strong left foot and subsequently send the KCCA fans into a frenzy.

The victory sent KCCA to 19 points in the third place after playing nine games. They are only two points behind leaders Wakiso Giants who have played a game more.

Gaddafi who missed their head coach Wasswa Bbosa due to suspension, are now 9th with 12 points from nine games.

KCCA will visit Onduparaka in Arua in their next game on Friday 2nd December while Gaddafi will host Vipers on Sunday 4th in Jinja.
