Amaku brace sinks KCCA at Lugogo

Fred Amaku scored a brace as Maroons FC beat KCCA FC 2-1 under the floodlights of Lugogo.

Muhammad Shaban netted KCCA FC’s goal while Usama Arafat missed a penalty in the second period.

The Kasasiro Boys suffered a second consecutive league defeat following their 1-0 loss to BUL FC in their opener.

Defeat also comes days after their CAF Confederation Cup exit to Libya’s Abu Salem.

In the 23rd minute, Amaku gave the visitors from close range before Shaban levelled matters at the stroke of halftime.

With 20 minutes to normal time, the hosts were awarded a penalty after a handball from Frederick Kigozi.

Usama was entrusted with the responsibility but the forward had his effort hit the crossbar.

Amaku completed his brace in the 78th minute when KCCA FC custodian Juma Mutebi failed to deal Patrick Bayiga’s header from Tusubira’s free-kick.

Maroons FC cruised to maximum points and now on 7 points they have garnered in their opening three league games.

KCCA FC remain winless in the league this term and next host Express FC on Sunday.
