Arua Hill managed to bury their four match losing streak with a 2-1 comeback victory over rivals Onduparaka FC at the Barifa Stadium on Sunday.

The result aggravated Onduparaka’s troubles and meant the Caterpillars are the only side yet to register victory in the league after nine of play.

Onduparaka took an early lead in the 15th minute through striker Amos Muwonge who headed perfectly from close range following a long cross from Emmanuel Oketch.

Arua Hill kept on pushing for a leveller and had subsequent chances through Jacob Kamwesiga, Rashid Kawawa and Gadaffi Wahab but couldn’t hit target.

Youngster Reagan Mpande was brought on for Ivan Eyam in the 54th minute and proved to be the match decider.

The former Ndejje University forward headed home a leveller from Rashid Toha’s delivery in the 63rd minute before sealing victory six minutes to normal time.

The winning goal came from a long Augustine Kacancu ball that was controlled by Kawawa into Mpande’s way who brilliantly poked it into the net.

The win came after Arua Hill had lost four games on the trot, against SC Villa, Vipers SC, URA FC and recently Gaddafi FC.
