Aziz Kayondo bids farewell to Vipers ahead of transfer to Europe

Vipers SC left back Aziz Kayondo bid farewell to the club fans on Saturday after the final whistle in his side’s disappointing draw with BUL FC at Kitende.

Kayondo is expected to depart the club in the coming week to join a Czech Republic side yet to be revealed.

After the stalemate with BUL Kayondo who was named man of the match waved to the Kitende faithfuls who included club President Lawrence Mulindwa.

The left back joined Vipers senior team from the club feeder St.Mary’s Secondary school.

At Vipers SC, he won the 2019/20 Uganda Premier League title and the 2020/21 Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy.

Kayondo also won the 2019 Copa Coca-cola with St.Mary’s Kitende as well as winning Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) games in the same year.

In 2021, he was a key pillar for the Uganda U-20 team which finished as runners up in U-20 AFCON that was staged in Mauritania. He also earned a place in the team of the tournament.

Kayondo was among the three players shortlisted for the Airtel FUFA Male Player of the year 2021 with the gong heading to his teammate Bobosi Byaruhanga.
