Police FC 2-1 Young Elephants

The Big League resumed with one match as Police FC came from a goal down to beat new entrants Young Elephants FC 2-1 at the Kavumba.

Young Elephants were the better side in the first half of the game and went for the mandatory halftime break with a lead courtesy of Jimmy Oola’s goal.

Oola capitalized on a lapse by Police captain Joseph Sentume to head home perfectly from a teasing cross in the 10th minute.

The Cops came into the second half with more urgency and conviction in attack and the much needed improvement paid dividends.

Substitutes Dennis Kalanzi and James Brian Obedi scored to ensure a hard fought victory for Simon Peter Mugerwa’s coached side.

Kalanzi replaced Steven Kabuye at the start of the second half before equalizing from close range in the 63rd minute.

Obedi who was recently signed from Ndejje University, replaced Isaac Ogwang with 13 minutes left on the clock.

Obedi headed the winning from goalkeeper Davis Mutebi’s long ball in the added five minutes of stoppage time.

Obedi’s winning goal came two minutes after Herman Wasswa had squandered a glorious chance to score in a keeper to beat.
