BOXING : UBF reveal Bombers team for All Africa games



The Uganda Boxing Federation announced a team of eight Bombers and two officials that will represent Uganda in the All Africa games.

While announcing the team at Lugogo, Moses Muhangi the UBF President called upon the Boxers to put up spirited performance at the championship.

“We are delighted to announce a team of eight Boxers and two officials who represent the nation at the All Africa games.

I call upon our representatives to put up spirited performances and rise the Ugandan flag.”

We wanted to have many Boxers but both Uganda Olympic Committee and National Council of Sports told us that they don’t have enough funds to facilitate us.”

Muhangi promised a token of appreciation to every Bomber who will succeed at the event.

The team will be under the stewardship of Meddie Mulani and will be assisted by Kankusi Mercy.

The 12th Africa Games will take place from 19th to 31st August in Rabat, Morocco. This is the first time that the Northern Africa country will host the event.

During the 2015 games, Uganda was represented by the following Bombers, Sula Segawa, Fazil Juma, Nasil Bashir, Mukiibi Tonny, Kayondo Paul, Simbwa Reagan and Kyakonye Willy.

Super heavy weight (91kg) Geko Solomon

Baleke Hellen(Middle weight 75kg) and Nalia Jalia (Bantam)
