Buddu suffers defeat as Gomba, Mawokota, Buwekula storm Quarterfinal stage

Nine matches were played on Sunday, 27th August in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup competition at various grounds.

Mawokota, Gomba and Buwekula joined Ssingo into the Quarterfinals of the competition while Buddu continued to struggle.

Buddu suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Kyaggwe on Sunday.

Yusuf Mukwana scored the all important goal that sent Kyaggwe into second place in Masengere Group with 14 points while Buddu are now third with 13 points same as fourth placed Buluuli.

Buddu and Buluuli will face off on Sunday in a winner takes all contest.

In the same group, Kyadondo shred Kooki 4-0 and they are now on 12 points. Kyadondo next host Kyaggwe in their final group game.

In Muganzirwa Group, both Mawokota and record winners Gomba prevailed to the last eight after their respective wins.

Gomba beat holders Busiro 1-0 at Kabulasoke, thanks to a Aaron Mutebi first half goal.

Mawokota powered past Mawogola 4-2 in an entertaining contest at Buwama.
