Samuel Ssekamatte scored the all important goal as BUL FC edged Vipers SC in the Quarterfinals of the FUFA Super 8 Pre-season tournament on Thursday at Njeru Technical centre.
Ssekamatte scored from the spot early in the second half to send Abbey Kikomeko’s side into the Semifinal.
Before Ssekamatte’s goal, David Bagoole and Milton Karisa both came close to scoring for the visitors.
In the 47th minute, BUL were awarded a penalty after Vipers’ right back Ashraf Mandela had fouled Reagan Kalyowa into the forbidden area.

Ssekamatte was entrusted with the responsibility and calmly put the home side ahead.
Moments later, BUL nearly doubled their lead with Kalyowa and Martin Aprem forcing custodian Fabien Mutombora into a double save.
At fulltime whistle, Ssekamatte’s goal was enough to send the Jinja based side into the Semifinal where they will face off with SC Villa who beat Maroons 2-1 in the other Quarterfinal on Thursday.
