Busoga target Tooro sculp in bid to steer clear of relegation

Gladys ZAWEDDE

Busoga United host bottom placed Tooro United at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

Abbey Kikomeko’s charges are only a position above the relegation zone with only 22 points from 22 games.

On the other hand, Ibrahim Kirya’s men are on the bottom with only ten points and their chances of survival are very minimal.

None of the two sides managed to win their previous league matches and they hope to bounce back today.

Busoga United shared spoils with BUL FC in the Jinja derby with Isaac Wagiona scoring their goal.

Tooro United played to a goalless draw with Livingston Mbabazi’s Arua Hill SC at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.

Fred Lumu the assistant head coach Busoga United anticipates a tough tie but he is confident of victory,

“It will not be an easy task as you see both sides badly need the three points.”

Tooro looks to be already relegated but we do not expect them to give in so easily they will fight hard but we are ready for them.”

Lumu added

The hosts are boosted by the return of Geoffrey Akol and Laban Tibita from injuries.

Victory can help Busoga United move up to 10th with 25 points praying that SC Villa does not register victory against Wakiso Giants.

Tooro United will remain bottom placed even with victory.
