Busoga United and Mbarara city face off in early relegation fight

Busoga United will welcome Mbarara City on Tuesday at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

Both sides are in a fight to overcome relegation following a poor start to the season.

Busoga are in the red zone on 11 points whereas Mbarara City are 12th on the Uganda Premier league log with 15 points.

Busoga suffered a 3-1 home defeat to URA FC in their rescheduled fixture of the first round. The loss was the 10th they have suffered this term.

The Ankole Lions will be aiming for a perfect start to the second round with a new head coach Sadick Sempigi who replaced Hussein Mbalangu in January.

Busoga

New signings Herbert Onyango, Godfrey Akol, Thomas Kabaale and Dickson Niwamanya are likely to start for the hosts.

Abbey Kikomeko coached side will miss the services of Derrick Basoga due to card accumulation but the good news is the return of Charles Mulanda from injury.

Mbarara City

They will be without skipper Solomon Okwalinga and Makeuth Owol through respective injuries. Stephen Otieno returns to the side after serving his suspension.

Four of the six January signings for Sempigi are likely to be handed their debuts these are David Ojok, Dudu Ramathan, Najib Tusaba and Henry Musisi.

In the previous four league meetings, both sides have each won once and drawn twice.

The first round contest this season ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the Kakyeka Stadium.
