Calvary break Kataka’s unbeaten run as Kitara oust Maroons



Calvary FC have condemned leaders Kataka FC to their first defeat of the season in a game played at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

Former SC Villa and URA FC winger Vitalis Tabu scored lone goal of the game through a penalty kick as early as the 5th minute.

Kataka came into the encounter as the only team that had not lost a game in the Big league this season.

They however remain top of the table with 14 points, two better than second placed Maroons FC who also their game 3-1 against Kitara FC in Masindi.

Kitara scored all the three goals in the first half through Zakayo Kizito, Oscar Munihizi and striker Peter Lomolo.

Fred Amaku scored the consolation goal for Maroons in the 20th minute but couldn’t inspire his side to avoid defeat.

Amaku has now scored seven goals and became joint-top on the scorers table with Nyamityobora’s Clinton Kamugisha.

In Tororo, Luweero United beat MYDA 1-0 courtesy of a late header from Derrick Mudali.

MYDA remained bottom of the table with only four points after seven games played.

Blacks Power moved to the 3rd place after beating Nyamityobora 3-1 at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.

Daniel Otim got a brace while James Okiror added the other for Blacks Power as Brian Kabyesigye scored for Nyamityobora which only turned out to be a consolation.

Ndejje University came from a goal behind to beat Proline 2-1 at Lugogo.

Proline had taken the lead through skipper Noordin Bunjo but Ndejje scored twice through Vincent Abigaba and Joseph Okello in the 30th and 34th minutes.

The league will resume on Sunday 19th December with five game to be played.

Kitara host MYDA, Kyetume welcome Nyamityobora while Calvary visit Luweero United.

Blacks Power host Proline as Kataka and Ndejje University face off in Mbale.
