The CECAFA Zonal qualifiers of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League have been postponed until further notice.
The tournament was set to kick off on Saturday 17th July and climax on August 1st in Nairobi, Kenya.
The reason for the postponement was not revealed but it’s understood that some clubs have been reportedly been unable to travel for the tournament because of financial reasons.

Uganda’s representatives Lady Doves were meant to reveal their final squad on Wednesday before traveling to Kenya on Friday.
Lady Doves were pitted in Group A alongside Simba Queens of Tanzania and Burundi’s PVP FC Buyenzi.
Rwanda’s Scandinavian WFC pulled out of the tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were initially pooled in Group C alongside Vihiga Queens of Kenya and FAD Club of Djibouti.
The other teams remaining in the tournament are Ethiopian side Commercial Bank FC, Yei Joint Stars of South Sudan and Zanzibar’s New Generation.

The eventual winners of the tournament are meant to represent CECAFA region in the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League to be held in Egypt later this year.
