CECAFA WOMEN: Tanzania, Ethiopia share spoils in thrilling draw

Ethiopia 2-2 Tanzania

Tanzania rallied twice to draw 2-2 with Ethiopia in a battle for supremacy of Group B of the CECAFA Women’s Championship at Njeru.

The Ethiopian took an early through their inspirational skipper Loza Abera who capitalized on a defensive mix up by Tanzania in the 8th minute.

Tanzania equalized through striker Opa Clement who finished off from close range with a rebound in the 24th minute.

Both sides kept pushing for a winning goal so as to take the coveted lead spot of the Group.

It was Ethiopia who scored next through Mesay Temesgen Tanga following a beautiful interplay within the area in the 67th minute.

Tanzania defender Enekia Lunyamila Kasonga scored a screamer from a free kick from about 30 yards 10 minutes to normal time.

Both teams are tied on four points but Ethiopia leads with a superior difference.

Tanzania will take on Zanzibar in the final game on Monday while Ethiopia will play against South Sudan on the same day.
