Rwanda started the game on the front foot but gradually threw the command to Crested Cranes thanks to the outstanding exploits the midfield trio of Hasifah Nassuna, Joan Nabirye and Shamirah Nalugya.

Going forward Nassuna, Nalugya and Margaret Kunihira knitted Uganda’s chances try to feed Ikwaput upfront.

Ikwaput capitalized on an error by goalkeeper Claudine Itangishaka in the 40th minute.

The restart saw Lutalo introduce Sandra Nabweteme for Israeli based Natasha Shirazi who had a struggling performance in the first 45.

A minute into the second half, Ikwaput doubled the lead with a looping ball after the keeper made a rushed decision off her line.

The Crested Cranes thereafter dominated the proceedings with a number of goal attempts but couldn’t find target.

The most clear one fell to Ikwaput who was on a hat trick but agonizingly had her goal bound effort thwarted away by the keeper following a brilliant exchange with Nabweteme.

Lillian Mutuuzo, Phiona Nabbumba and Riticia Nabbosa replaced Kunihira, Nassuna and Nalugya.
