The Uganda Cricket Association has announced it’s squad for the forthcoming International Cricket Council T20 World Cup.
The named squad comprises of 15 players and two travelling reserves for the showpiece due in USA and West Indies.
Ahbay Sharma who recently replaced Mahatlane will be in charge of the named squad in USA and West Indies.
Uganda Cricket Cranes will be making their maiden appearance will take on 2021 finalists New Zealand (Blackcaps), co-hosts & 2-time winners Windies Cricket, Afghanistan Cricket and Papua New Guinea in Group C.
Brian Masaba is the team captain, supported by seasoned players like Riazat Ali Shah and the remarkable Frank Nsubuga, whose cricket journey spans over two decades. Nsubuga’s selection is a testament to his lifelong dedication to the sport, from his debut in 1997 to his recent standout performances, including a memorable catch against Kenya in 2022.
Joining the ranks is spin-bowling sensation Alpesh Ramjani, fresh off his nomination for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year in 2023.

Travelling Reserves: Innocent Mwebaze, Ronald Lutaaya
The T20 World Cup 2024 group stage will be held from June 1 to 18, followed by the Super Eight phase from June 19 to 24. The semi-finals will be on June 26 and 27 in Guyana and Trinidad, respectively, while the final will be on June 29 in Barbados.
