Derby of the army sides as UPDF host Gaddafi at Bombo

Brian Senyondo’s UPDF will hope to bounce back from their sloppy show against URA when they threw away a first half lead to lose 3-1 to URA at Ndejje University.

They welcome fellow army side Gaddafi FC at Bombo this evening on match day V.

The new comers are in high spirits after earning their first ever win in the top flight. They scored late against Soltilo Bright Stars thanks to James Otim.

UPDF currently sit 8th on the log with 4 points attained from their 3 matches, they started the campaign with a valuable away point against Onduparaka, beat Express and lost to URA in their latest league outing.

Gaddafi on the other hand have lost to KCCA and Busoga United, held Tooro United in Buhinga and beat Bright Stars to take their points tally to 4.

UPDF wont be with experienced custodian Brian Bwete Zigi who was stretchered off against URA in the first half after sustaining an injury.

Defender/midfielder Simon Mbaziira will also miss the tie but unlike Bwete he may be subjected to a late fitness test.

Gaddafi will miss the services of former KCCA and Buildcon utility man Paul Musamali , Amos Kirya and Bakari Magumba. They are all injured.

The good news for Mubarak Wamboya is the availability of defender Jamaldine Buchochera who is in line to make his debut. He has been carrying an injury sustained in one of the preseason friendlies.

Onen Franco also returns to the squad after missing the encounter with Soltilo Bright Stars.
