The former Vipers SC coach replaced James Odoch who was sacked at the start of the month of December following a poor string of results.

In the six games he has so far managed at Express, Isabirye has led the side to four wins against NEC FC, Vipers SC, Arua Hill and most recently against Gaddafi. He only lost to SC Villa and Kitara FC.

Express FC finished the first round campaign in sixth position with 25 points they garnered in 15 games.
