John Byamukama scored the all important goal in the second half as Express FC beat Vipers 1-0 at St.Mary’s Kitende on Friday.
This was Vipers first defeat at home in Fred Kajoba’s reign, their last defeat at Kitende in the league was the 1-0 loss against Villa in January 2020.
It was a spirited and determined win for Wasswa Bbosa coached side who came into this contest on a three game winless run, having lost to Bright Stars and drawn against Villa and Mbarara City respectively.
Express had not beaten Vipers in the previous 3 visits at Kitende.

Byamukama netted the match winner four minutes after the hour mark with a screamer that left Vipers custodian Bashir Sekagya helpless.
The first half saw both teams head into the tunnel goalless though Godfrey Lwesibawa had the best chance of the half for the visitors when he failed to tap past custodian Bashir Sekagya in the 5th minute.
In the closing stages of the game, second half substitute Milton Karisa nearly levelled the score but his effort on the volley went inches over the bar.
