Express target maximum points from tricky visit to Bright Stars

Express FC start their second round of the season with a trip to relegation fighters Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba.

Express come into the fixture 5th on the table with 27 points while Bright Stars sit 14th with 11 points accumulated from the 15 games played.

Coming into this fixture, Bright Stars under newly appointed coach Paul Kiwanuka, lost 3-0 to URA FC in their most recent game last week.

Express are unbeaten in the last 13 league games since losing 1-0 to UPDF FC on match day two.

Both Express and Bright Stars played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Wankulukuku. George Ssenkaaba scored for the Red Eagles but Dennis Kaka Umony equalized in the final minute of the game.

The two sides have previously faced off on 18 occasions which have been dominated by nine draws. Express have won five times while Bright Stars have won the other four.

Bright Stars welcome striker Emmanuel Loki from international duty where he has been with South Sudan in UAE.

Express will once again be without their skipper Enock Walusimbi who is currently in Spain, Erick Kambale who is expected to leave the club and Godfrey Lwesibawa due to a knee injury.

Nicholas Kasozi is suspended while Martin Kizza returns from international duty.

Andrew Kaggwa the Bright Stars right back says their season starts with the encounter against Express having had a bad run in the first round.

” Our season starts with this game against Express. We have had a very bad first round performance but our season will start with positive results against Express. We made many mistakes in the game against URA which we have rectified so expected an improved display.”

Kaggwa said in a pre match interview.

Wasswa Bbosa also maintains his side is good shape to win maximum points.

” We’ve been preparing very well since our Stanbic Uganda Cup game, tomorrow’s game is very crucial because we have to start our second round with a win, the boys know what’s at stake and are ready. We respect Bright Stars but we want to earn maximum points.”

Express will automatically dislodge Arua Hill from the fourth place on the table in case of any victory.

Bright Stars will be vying for their first win under new coach Paul Kiwanuka.
