EXPRESS vs KCCA FC: Odoch in search for maiden victory as Byekwaso aims to keep the chase

Danito NSUBUGA

It is another Kampala derby this evening at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku as the defending champions Express seek to arrest a bad patch of form that has seen them fail to win in the last four league games.

Their most recent victory came in the first round when they beat Tooro United 2-0 at Buhinga. They have since been held by Soltilo Bright Stars twice, drew with Tooro United and lost to Busoga United.

That bad form partly accounted for the sacking of Wasswa Bbosa but his replacement James Odoch was also handed a baptism of fire when he lost 1-0 to Busoga United in his first game on the touchline.

KCCA on the other hand can’t afford anything below victory following Vipers’ win over Bright Stars last evening. The Venoms stretched their leadership to four points.

The first round meeting between these two sides ended 0-0 at Lugogo.

HEAD TO HEAD

The previous 26 meetings between them have been dominated by KCCA, having registered 7 wins and 12 draws.

Express FC have emerged victorious on only four occasions.

TEAM NEWS:

Eric Kambale’s return is a massive boost for Express FC and he will be expected to lead the hunt for goals.

Defenders Arthur Kiggundu and Enoc Walusimbi are also back in contention for starting berths.

KCCA FC have not travelled with Yassar Mugerwa and Brian Majwega. The former is out through illness whereas the later is suspended.

The good news for Morley Byekwaso is the availability of the striking duo of Sadat Anaku and Patrick Henry Kaddu.
