FIFA names referees for Uganda’s game against Kenya

Sudan’s Ismail Mahmood Ali Mahmood will be the center referee when the Uganda Cranes open up their World Cup qualifiers campaign against Kenya on September 2nd in Nairobi.

This will be the second time Mahmood oversees a game involving Uganda having been a center referee when The Cranes beat Malawi 2-0 in the AFCON Qualifiers at Namboole in 2019.

He was also the fourth official when Uganda drew 1-1 with Congo Brazzaville in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in 2017 in Brazzaville.

Mahmood was the referee when KCCA beat Namibia’s African Stars in the CAF Champions League qualifiers two years ago.

He will be assisted by his countrymen Ibrahim Abdallah Mohammed and Abdel Gabar Muhammed as the first and second assistant referees respectively.

Fadul Sabri Muhammad also from Sudan, will be the fourth official while Labrosse Jean Claude from Seychelles will be the Referee Assessor.

The match commissioner will be Solomon Gebre Selassie from Ethiopia.

The game will be played at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi Kenya at 3pm.

Uganda will face Mali at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende four days later.
