Fresh Diary Secondary Schools Games: St.Noa Girls stun Kawempe to clinch first ever title

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana beat Kawempe Muslim Secondary School to clinch their first ever Fresh Diary Secondary Schools Games national girls football trophy at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

Erycca Kanamunyeza scored the all important goal for St. Noa as they revenged over rivals Kawempe Muslim.

In 2019, Kawempe Muslim beat St.Noa Girls in Mbale 4-3 after penalties following a goalless draw in the normal time during the games held in Mbale.

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana beat King of Kings 1-0 in the semi-final for a final slot, courtesy of a Kabene strike.

It’s should remembered that King of Kings bounced back into the race after winning a petition against Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga for fielding non-bonafied students against them in the quarterfinal.

Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga was banned for two years after losing the defence.

Kawempe Muslim who won the 2019 edition beat Rines SS 1-0 in the semifinal to prevail to the final.
Hadijjah Nandago scored the sole goal for Kawempe Muslim Secondary School against Rines.

St. Noa Girls beat Amus College 1-0 in the quarter final to book a date with King of Kings who petitioned against Uganda Martyrs High School after a 1-0 defeat.

In round of 16, St. Noa Girls Secondary Schools-Zana outclassed Wakiso district champions Taggy High School Entebbe by 3-0.
Erycca Kanamunyeza scored a brace to extend her tally to nine while Nancy Mabdera scored the other for St.Noa.

To reach this stage, St. Noa Girls Secondary-Zana sailed through group H as leaders with a 100% win record gunning 21 points, 41 goals and conceded once.

All together, St. Noa Girls have scored 47 goals and only conceded once in this year’s competition.

National and FEASSSA champions Kawempe Muslim Secondary School who beat Bishops SS Mukono 1-0 at thr quarterfinal stage.
Kawempe scored through Suzan Nalukoda’s header to reach semi-finals.

In the round of 16, Kawempe Muslim astonishingly beat Acaba Girls 6-0 win.

The win was inspired by a Suzan Nalukoda hat-trick with Nalumu Phiona, Hadija Nandago and Shakira Nyinagahirwa scoring the other goals.
