FUFA confirms new format for FUFA Big League

The FUFA Executive committee has decided that the 2021/22 Big League season will have 12 teams and will be played in a single group on home and away basis.

The development was one of the key decisions made by the FUFA Executive committee last week.

FUFA also revealed that the bottom four teams on the final table standings at the end of the Big League campaign shall be relegated to their respective 3rd Division Leagues.

The kick off dates for the 2021/22 Big League season are yet to be communicated by the Federation.

On the Regional Leagues, the FUFA Executive decided that starting with the 2022/23 season, the winners in each of the 8 FUFA regions shall be promoted to the FUFA Big League.

This means that the 2022/23 FUFA Big League season will have 16 teams.
