FUFA sanctions referee Lucky Kasalirwe

FUFA Referee Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned one of its members Lucky Kasalirwe for cancelling a would be genuine goal and thus making a decision that later affected the results of the game between Gaddafi FC and Soltilo Bright Stars FC played on 29th, October, 2021 in Jinja.

Kasalirwe was found guilty of making a clear refereeing mistake which later affected the match results.

“Accordingly, for failure to recognize a foul or no foul situation thus cancelling a genuine goal for Soltilo Bright Stars, the FUFA Referee Disciplinary panel here by sanctions Kasalirwe with a Three weeks suspension from football officiation of the Uganda Premier League effective immediately as of 2nd, November, 2021. That is 6 match days from march day 7 to match day 12.”

Reads a statement issued by the Referee Disciplinary Committee signed by chairman and veteran referee Ali Tomusange.

It should be remembered that the incident in question occured on match day 4 in Jinja (Gaddafi Vs Bright Stars).

Soltilo Bright Stars forward Emmanuel Loki headed a Simon Ssemayange ball into the back of the net to give the visitors a lead but Kasalirwe cancelled the goal after Gaddafi FC goalkeeper pretended to have been fouled.

The hosts went on to score through James Otim in the stoppage time and earned all the Three points out of the duel.
