FUFA set to appoint Sergio Traguil as new U17 coach

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is set to name former KCCA FC head coach Sergio Traguil as the U-17 national team head coach.

The development comes 24 hours after Traguil was relieved of his duties at KCCA FC on Tuesday.

At the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions, Sergio was replaced by Jackson Magera Kaddu on interim basis.

This website understands that the Federation has kicked off negotiations with the Portuguese tactician for the vacant Cubs head coaching role.

In March this year, FUFA President Moses Magogo declared all national team technical positions vacant with exceptional of the Cranes job by then.

Sergio is a UEFA A license holder and is also pursuing a UEFA Pro License.

He began his coaching career at Sports Lisboa e Benfica where he was in charge of the Club’s youth teams before joining Kaduna United in Nigeria.

Sergio has previously coached at Hearts of Oak (Ghana), Singida Big Stars (Tanzania), CD Lunda Sul (Angola), Vilankulos (Mozambique), Mirbat SC (Oman), Kabuscorp SC (Angola), Santa Rita CFC (Angola) and recently Township Rollers FC (Botswana).
