FUTSAL: Yeak Kabowa score dozen to consolidate log lead



It rained goals as the Futsal Super League resumed on Thursday at International Futsal Courts in Mengo, Kisenyi.

A total of 54 goals were registered in the seven match day 20 games played.

Table leaders Yeak Kabowa were tthe highest scorers once again with a 12-5 victory over Equator.

Enock Sebagala and Avemah Shaffic scored five and four goals respectively while John Musaasizi (brace) and Andrew Kayanga completed the rout.

The victory maintained Yeak Kabowa’s lead on the Futsal Super League table with 48 points, four more than second placed Park who also won 4-3 against defending champions Dream.

Skipper Babu Iddi, Aziku Joshua and Francis Matunga (brace) were on target for Park to ensure their title winning hopes stay alive.

Mengo City registered the second biggest win on the evening, an 8-4 over debutants Aidenal School of Art.

Haruna Ssesanga (hat trick), Arafat Bizimana (brace), Umar Kamyufu, Julius Muzira and John Kakande (own goal) ensured a commanding win for Mengo City.

Typhoon edged Crown 3-2 thanks to David Kiwanuka’s brace and a goal from Allan Sentongo. Both sides were reduced to four men after Ronald Mukasa Ssempijja (Typhoon) and Kaire Abdirashid Ismail (Crown) were sent off for unsporting behavior.

Elephants rallied to defeat Kabowa United 4-3 in the bottom of table affair while Bajim picked a slender 2-1 win over lowly placed Yap Stars.

Nomad put Parakeets to the sword with a 3-0 victory in one of the closing games of the day.

The league will resume next week on Thursday 25th April with seven games.

Yeak Kabowa’s red-hot forward Enock Sebagala leads the scoring charts with 36 goals whilst Shafik Avemah comes closest with 33.
