FWSL: Aluka on song as Olila stun UCU at home

Grace Aluka inspired Olila High School WFC to a hard fought 1-0 win over UCU Lady Cardinals in a FUFA Women Super League game played at the University grounds in Mukono.

Aluka scored the lone goal of the game and took her season tally to 8 goals to stretch her lead on the scorers’ table.

The former Kawempe Muslim left back cum winger struck the ball perfectly at the edge of the box following a fine pass from teammate Patricia Apio in the 23rd minute.

UCU staged a spirited fight but were relentlessly denied by the resilient Olila defense especially in the second half.

Crested Cranes defender Bira Nadunga made two crucial goal line clearances following a melee in front of the goal mouth.

Hasifa Nassuna nearly equalized for the Lady Cardinals in the closing stages but goalkeeper Esther Okello Akite made a perfect save.

The win took Olila to 18 points, level with UCU but separated by goal difference. UCU remained fourth while Olila who have an inferior (+4) goal difference are fifth on the FUFA Women Super League table.

Olila will face She Maroons on Monday 2nd May while UCU will host Tooro Queens on Wednesday 4th May.
