9 minutes into the second half, Miya rose to the occasion from 20 yards with a powerful effort that was spilt by the Rijeka goalkeeper before Lukasz Zwolinski rebounded home to level matters.
Nigerian born winger Iyayi Believe Atiemwen put Gorica in the lead with barely 10 minutes left on the clock.
Rijeka got a penalty, a second one in the game but this time round Jakov Puljic could not beat Kristijan Kahlina, Miya was the best positioned player and subsequently cleared the ball from the goal mouth.
The Uganda Cranes star was thereafter withdrawn for Armenian David Arshakyan in the 90th minute.
Miya’s immediate assignment will be the Cranes vs Lesotho double header slated for 13th and 16th October in Namboole and Maseru respectively.
HNK Gorica currently sit 4th on the Croatian topflight league with 16 points garnered from 10 games played.
