High-flying Kampala Queens stretch unbeaten streak to 23 games

Sinan RAJUB SENOGA

Kampala Queens have extended their supremacy in the FUFA Women Super League with a 2-0 comfortable win over Olila High School in the only game played on Sunday.

The game was played at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru and not IUIU Kabojja which is the official home ground of Kampala Queens because of the unavailability of the pitch.

The game was also attended by the speaker of the Parliament Rt. Hon. Anitah Among alongside the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo.

Resty Nanziri and Zaina Nandede scored the two goals for the high-flying Queens in the first half of the game.

Nanziri flawlessly finished off a brilliant defense splitting pass from Shamirah Nalugya in the 22nd minute of the contest.

Nandede then doubled the lead in the 35th minute with her first goal of the season after capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Sharon Achen.

The result stretched KQ’s perfect start to the season to six wins in as many games. They currently lead the table with 18 points, five clear of second placed Uganda Martyrs High School.

Kampala Queens are now unbeaten in the last 23 league games. Their last defeat came in last season’s opener against Kawempe Muslim at Kabojja.

The Hamza Lutalo coached side will visit Lady Doves in their subsequent league fixture.
