IBA President Kremlev pledges more support for development of grass root boxing in Uganda

The International Boxing Association President Umar Kremlev made a return to Uganda on Saturday night in his private jet.

On Sunday, the Russian visited both Masaka Kids Africana dance group camp and Masaka Boxing club.

In Masaka he was escorted by Minister of State for Sports Peter Ogwang, National Council of Sports Chairman Ambrose Tashobya, Uganda Boxing Federation boss Moses Muhangi and RCC Hudu Hussein.

Kremlev donated boxing equipment such as gloves, T-shirts mouth guards and jumpers to Masaka Kids Africana and $100,000 (over Shs370M ) that will be used for construction of a boxing gym that will be used development of grass-roots boxing programs.

The art boxing gym that will constructed in Masaka will be designed to serve the entire community.

After touring, Masaka Kids Camp, Kremlev also visited Masaka Boxing club which is located at Masaka Recreation ground.

During his first visit to Uganda last year, Kremlev aimed at strengthening the sport, build capacity, and strengthen ties between UBF and the international body.

He also commissioned a multipurpose facility worth USD 5 million. After his tour to Masaka, the Russian boarded his private jet to his next destination Montenegro.
