Vipers seal deal for Alex Isabirye as Bianchi’s replacement

Vipers SC have agreed terms with coach Alex Isabirye who will take over following the departure of Brazilian coach Beto Bianchi.

Bianchi was sacked on Thursday morning following a string of unconvincing results at club.

Isabirye will officially cross over from BUL FC to Kitende with a main task of steering the Venoms back to the rails.

It should be noted that Isabirye caught the attention of the Vipers hierarchy last season as he guided BUL to their first ever Stanbic Uganda Cup title in Masindi.

This website understands Isabirye comes along Richard Baker Kasule who has been serving as his assistant at BUL FC.

Isabirye is a tried and tested coach who has previously won the league title with URA FC and the Uganda Cup with the now defunct Victoria University.

He has also coached topflight sides like Kyetume, Soana, Busoga United as well as Somali giants Horseed FC.

Under Isabirye,Vipers will be seeking to save their season as they sit seven points behind league leaders and rivals KCCA FC who have played a game more.

Vipers sit fourth on the table with 28 points from 15 games played while KCCA have 35 points from 16 games.

The Venoms will on Tuesday 14th face off with Wakiso Giants in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16.

They will thereafter host Moroccan heavyweights Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
