Isabirye takes charge of first league game as BUL and Mbarara city vie for safety

Fresh from registering a slim 2-1 victory over Kigezi HomeBoyz in the Uganda Cup, BUL host Mbarara City as they turn their focus on the Uganda Premier League.

The two sides are 5 points above 14th placed Kyetume and are yet to confirm safety.

It will be Alex Isabirye’s second game at the helm of BUL who is on a task of helping his new side with a better finish this season.

In the last seven meetings between both sides BUL has won twice, two have ended in stalemates and the other three won by The Ankole Lions.

The reverse tie at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara ended in a one all stalemate.

Isabirye will count on Richard Wandyaka, Musa Esenu, Simon Peter Oketch to inspire his side to maximum points.

He will still miss out Hamis Tibita and Ambrose Kirya due to respective injuries while Joseph Ssemujju is back after missing six games.

Mbarara City will be without Jasper Aheebwa, Makweth Wol and Soulyamane Bamba due to injuries.

Livingston Mbabazi will look on Henry Kitegenyi, Jude Ssemugabi, Hilary Mukundane and Solomon to guide his side to victory.

Both sides are tied on 25 points BUL is tenth while Mbarara City is 11th and the winner at the end of the day can go to the ninth position.
