SC Villa needed a late Patrick Kakande wonder goal to beat a resilient Busoga side that was not only hard to break but also created more opportunities than the 16 time champions at their home.

Kakande was only making his first appearance for the Jogoos but he exhibited sheer brilliance when he expertly controlled Ivan Bogere’s cross and beat his man to send the Jogoo fans into a frenzy.

His goal maintained Villa’s 100% home record with the 3rd win but it wasn’t satisfactory to many spectators as the home side chased shadows for the entirety of the match.

“I think Busoga played better, they created more chances but did not take them away”

Said Magera.

“We created a few and luckily we scored one of them and we got all three points which is most important”.

When asked to asses his team’s overall performance, Magera admitted that his team did not hurt the opponent enough and they were frustrated.

“Perhaps my boys underestimated Busoga judging by their previous results and as the game grew, it became hard for us to break them down as we allowed them to grow in confidence”.

“We made a few changes that luckily paid off and I am glad with my team”

The match winner Kakande came on in the 67th minute replacing Goffin Oyirwoth. Provider Ivan Bogere was also a second half substitute.

Villa will next visit Arua Hill on the 5th of November
