Jinja North leave it late against Luweero United to register maiden victory

Debutants Jinja North registered their first victory of the season after defeating Luweero United 1-0 at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe.

Forward Samuel Mwanje will go down in history as the man who guided Jinja North to their historic victory in the Big League.

Mwanje found himself unmarked and tapped home the winning goal from Denis Waihe’s excellent cross in the 75th minute of the game.

Luweero United had chances of scoring but Jinja North’s goalkeeper Fredrick Wangwa stood up to the task with a couple of brilliant and timely saves.

Luweero United have collected four points having suffered two defeats, drawn once and won once from the four games they have played.

Jinja North United FC who came in this game with two points now go to five and leave the relegation zone (15th) to the sixth position

Defeat sees Luweero United slip to the 8th position.

Jinja North United FC will next play Soroti City at Soroti Municipal Stadium on Thursday 10th November.

On the same day, Luweero United will host wounded Lugazi FC at Kosovo grounds Kasana.

The other game played, Kitara FC humbled Lugazi FC to a 3-0 defeat . John Wesley Kisakye scored twice and Moses Sseruyidde scored the third for Mark Twinamasiko’s coached side.
