Kampala Queens will need just a point to officially clinch the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League title.
The follows their crucial 1-0 victory over second placed Uganda Martyrs at Lubaga to go 15 points clear with only five games to the league climax.
Shamirah Nalugya scored the all important goal with a header from close range in the 19th minute after Resty Nanziri’s initial shot hit the cross bar.
Sumaiya Nalumu nearly equalized for Uganda Martyrs in the 88th minute but her long range goal bound shot was parried away by goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro.

Nalugya’s fourth goal of the season also ensured a double over the Lubaga school side having won the reverse fixture 4-1 at IUIU Kabojja.
The Hamza Lutalo coached side will host UCU Lady Cardinals in their next game two weeks from now in a game they will be declared champions if they avoid defeat.
If Kampala Queens win the league (which is imminent), Hasifa Nassuna will become the first player to win five league titles after winning three with Kawempe and one with UCU Lady Cardinals.
This will also be the club’s first major title since it’s formation in 2016.
