Kampala Queens rally from behind to defeat rivals She Corporate

Sinan Rajub Senoga

Kampala Queens extended their perfect start to the FUFA Women Super League season with a 2-1 win over defending champions She Corporate at Mubs Arena in Nakawa.

She Corporate remain winless in the first two games while Kampala Queens have garnered six points from the same number of games.

Kampala Queens would have taken a first half lead with chances falling to wingers Margret Kunihira and Zaina Nandede but couldn’t break the deadlock.

Following a barren first half, She Corporate drew first blood through striker Favour Nambatya who brilliantly curved the ball far beyond the hands of debutant Daisy Nakaziro in the 63rd minute.

The Queens responded two minutes later through striker Resty Nanziri whose low finish beat goalkeeper Daphine Nyayenga from close range.

Kampala Queens were awarded a penalty in the 73rd minute when Nyayenga brought down Nanziri in a one on one situation.

Shamirah Nalugya stepped up and flawlessly converted the penalty to complete the come back.

Kampala Queens will visit Makerere University in their next game next weekend while She Corporate will visit Uganda Martyrs High School.
