Karisa named Pilsner UPL Player of the Season

Vipers’ skipper Milton Karisa was named the Pilsner Uganda Premier league player of the season at the awards ceremony held on Thursday at Sheraton hotel in Kampala.

Karisa not only walked way with the player of the season accolade but was also voted the Coaches’ player of the season, named in the best XI and also scooped the most assist gong.

For most assists gong, he was tied with KCCA FC’s Allan Okello and Gaddafi Wahab of Arua all on 8 but Karisa clinched the accolade since he scored more goals. He netted 9 goals while Okello had 6 and Gaddafi managed 5.

Legendary SC Villa striker Andrew Fimbo Mukasa was also recognized at the awards ceremony.

Mukasa was honoured with the Platinum Award for his contribution towards the game in the country. Last year, the accolade was awarded to Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa.

Simon Tamale(Maroons) was named Goalkeeper of the season while Hillary Mukundane took the best defender of the season gong.

Laban Tibita (Busoga United) clinched the Midfieder of the season accolade while Darius Ojok (Maroons) was voted young player of the season.

Alex Isabirye Musongola (Vipers SC )was named coach of the season.
