KCCA clinch inaugural Cambiasso U20 Cup in Tanzania

KCCA FC won the 2022 Cambiasso U20 International Tournament after beating Azam FC 1-0 in the final played at the Chamazi Complex in Dar es Salaam.

Abubaker Mayanja won it all for the Ugandan representatives after he scored an extra time with three minutes to the post match shoot out.

KCCA were coached by the youth team coaches Richard Malinga and Ssaka Mpiima.

The tournament had U20 teams competing for glory from different countries like France, Tanzania, Burundi and Zambia.

KCCA midfielder Andrew Kawooya Sergeant was named the MVP of the tournament while goalkeeper Abraham Opio won the Golden Glove.

KCCA kicked off the tournament with a 4-0 win over Ruvu Shooting thanks to goals from Faizal Wabyoona, Abubaker Mayanja, Jovan Mawejje and an own goal from Musa Kibwana.

They lost their next group game 2-0 to Mtibwa Sugar before proceeding to the semis where they beat Montpelier 1-0 in the semi final thanks to a late Dembe John Paul winning goal.
