Kenya Premier League side Tusker FC have withdrawn from the CECAFA Kagame Cup that is slated to run between August 1st -14th in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Tusker’s withdrawal has forced CECAFA’s competitions Committee to change the groupings. The new two groups have four teams in each.
Express FC is now placed in Group A alongside Atlabara FC (South Sudan), Young Africans of Tanzania and Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets.

KCCA is placed in Group B alongside Burundi champions Le Messager Ngozi, Azam FC of Tanzania and Zanzibar’s KMKM FC.
Express FC will now kick start the campaign with their first game of the tournament against Atlabara FC on August 1st.
Young Africans SC will play against guest side Nyasa Big Bullets FC on the same day.

The best two teams from each group will go straight to the semi finals.
All games at the tournament will be played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and the Azam Complex Chamazi.
KCCA FC are the defending champions after beating Azam in 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Group B; KCCA FC (Uganda), Azam FC (Tanzania), Le Messager Ngozi (Burundi), KMKM FC (Zanzibar).
