KCCA FC have once again squandered another chance to close in on the table leaders Vipers.
Morley Byekwaso’s men have played out a dull 0-0 draw at their own backyard in Lugogo.
Byekwaso handed Brian Aheebwa a start up front alongside Sadat Anaku with Yasser Mugerwa playing just behind them.
KCCA struggled to command the authority of the game while their lead strikers spent large spells while deprived of goal scoring chances.
Arua Hill who sat back for the better part of the game, had the biggest chance of the game at stroke of halftime through youngster Innocent Media.
Media was on the receiving end of a lose ball following a long Ibrahim Thembo through in and sent a powerful shot that rattled the cross bar and came off the line with Benjamin Ochan already beaten.
Arua Hill contested the referee’s decision of not counting their would be goal but referee Deogracious Opio and his assistant were spot on.
The second half started with a KCCA double sub that saw youngster Eddie Elvis Mwanje and striker Davis Kasirye come on for Mugerwa and Ashraf Mugume respectively.
As the clock ticked towards the business end of the match, KCCA’s urgency in the final third improved.
Charles Lwanga and Rogers Mato were also introduced on for Aheebwa and Anaku.
Lwanga nearly found the winning goal when he found himself unmarked while in close range but failed to hit target as his effort when far wide with the goal at his mercy.
The result meant KCCA went to 46 points, six behind leaders Vipers who will face URA at Ndejje on Tuesday.
Arua Hill temporarily went 5th with 40 points garnered from 25 games.
