KCCA seek to bounce back from Lugogo Derby against Police FC


KCCA FC will be seeking to move to the summit of the Uganda Premier league when they face off with Police in the Lugogo derby at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

The Kasasiro Boys come into this contest after a goalless draw with SC Villa in their previous game. The result saw them miss an opportunity to move level on points with leaders Vipers SC.

The hosts Police FC also played out to a barren stalemate at Busoga United. The Cops have won just once, drawn three and lost one in the five games the previous five league games.

The Cops will be without Johnson Odong due to illness while Tonny Kiwalazi is suspended for the contest.

Defenders Eddy Kapampa and Hassan Mohmood are also out with long-term injuries.


The visitors will again be without their head coach Morley Byekwaso who recovered from illness. Gift Ali and Charles Lwanga are also out injured.

The goodness is left back Brian Majwega and Peter Magambo are available for selection after recovering from respective injuries.

“We are aiming at three points against KCCA so as to overcome relegation this season. KCCA are also targeting the title and this will spice the contest but we are ready for the game.”

Badru Kaddu (KCCA FC assistant coach)

“The game is going to be interesting since we use the same stadium, but we have prepared the boys and we are optimistic that we shall get maximum points.”

Match Stats

The two sides will be facing off for the 25th meeting. KCCA have yet to lose to the Cops in the last 24 meetings, they have managed 16 wins and drawn the other eight. KCCA beat Police 3-1 in the first round this term.

Police FC are 10th with 22 points from 20 games, they have won five games, drawn seven times and lost eight times so far this season.

KCCA FC on the other hand have won 11 games , shared spoils 8 times and have lost once this term. They are second on the log with 41 points.
