Kibuli win boys’ East African Football title

Kibuli Secondary School won the boys’ football title at the 2022 Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games in Arusha, Tanzania.

Kibuli clinched the title after a 2-0 victory over Kenya’s Highway Secondary at the Shiekh Amri Abeid Stadium on Friday.

Skipper Dominic Ayella brace was enough to guide Emuron Recoba coached side to the East African region title.

Ayella finished as the top scorer in the tournament with five goals and was also named as the Most Valuable Player.

Highway who eliminated national champions St.Mary’s Kitende in the semifinal didn’t have an impressive performance in the final as they were outplayed by a better Kibuli side.

Meanwhile, Uganda finished as the overall winners after clinching a total of 18 gold medals, 19 silvers and 13 bronze medals.

The gold medals came in Football (Boys and Girls),Rugby 7s, Netball, Basketball (3X3 and 5×5) for both boys and girls, Rugby 15s, Badminton, Hockey (Boys and Girls), Lawn Tennis (Boys), Table Tennis (Boys and Girls), Swimming (Boys) and Athletics (Girls).

Kenya was second with 5 gold, 12 silver and 3 bronze while host Tanzania managed 1 silver and 5 bronze medals.

For starters, Uganda also were also the overall winners in 2019.
