Kiplimo bags $20000 for winning the New York City Half Marathon

Uganda’s long-distance runner Jacob Kiplimo won the 16th edition of United Airlines New York City Half Marathon in the USA.

The Half Marathon world record holder raced to victory in a time of 1:01:31.

Kiplimo raced to victory

Kiplimo scooped $20000 for winning the United Airlines New York Half Marathon in the USA.

His compatriot Joshua Cheptegei finished second to scoop silver.

The 10000m and 5000m World record holder was second in a time of 1:02:09.

Cheptegei earned $10000 for his silver medal at the Half Marathon in New York.

Both Kiplimo and Cheptegei were making their debuts at the event in the New York.

Morocco’s Zouhair TaIbi finished third in a time of 1:02:18. The Moroccan bagged $5000 for his bronze medal at the race in the USA.

Kiplimo,  Talbi, Cheptegei excelled at the New York City Half Marathon

In Women’s race, Kenya’s Hellen Obiri finished in a time of 1:07:21 to win the race while Ethiopian Senbere Telfei was second in 1:07:55. Great Britain’s Karoline Bjerkeli Grovdal was third in a time of 1:09:53.
