Coach Morley Byekwaso has named a squad of 25 players who have traveled to Saudi Arabia to prepare for the forthcoming U23 CECAFA tournament.
From the named 25, the coach will drop two and the remaining 23 players will represent Uganda at this year’s CECAFA tourney.
KCCA FC duo of Charles Lwanga and Sadat Anaku as well as SC Villa defender Gavin Kizito are not part of the named squad.

Express FC captain Enock Walusimbi will be the skipper of the Uganda U23 team. Attacking midfielder Said Kyeyune is also part of the squad.
The team departed for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday night where they will play Saudi Arabia twice in friendlies on July 2nd and 5th, 2021.
Players below the age of 23 year of age and three above the said category will take part in the championship scheduled to kick off on July 17th in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.

Uganda are the defending champions after they beat Eritrea 3-0 in Kampala in 2019 to clinch a record extending 15th CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup title.
